Slavery

My blog is over how slavery first began. I chose slavery as my topic because it is interesting how different things used to be than they are now. During the prehistoric times is when slavery first began and it has been practiced ever since. During the middle ages, slavery declined. When slavery first started slaves probably had to follow the developement of farming which was around 10,000 years ago. The sumerians in Mesopotamia developed the first known slaves which formed the lowest class of civilization. As commerce and industrly increased; slavery expanded. As trade grew it created a demand of disciplined labor force that could produce goods for export. After this, acient slavery reached its fullest development during the great empires of Greece and Rome. Slaves did most of the work in these societies.
